PUAEME008 Provide Pain Management - Face to Face

Provide Pain Management involves the skills and knowledge required to administer restricted analgesics to provide pain management as part of a medically supervised first responder organisation. It includes identifying the need for analgesia; accessing‚ preparing and administering restricted pain relief such as analgesics and aspirin according to medically endorsed protocols; performing casualty handovers and completing analgesic use requirements.

 

Course Requirements:

Course Prerequisites: Current HLTAID011 Provide First Aid
USI: All students undertaking nationally recognised training courses delivered by a registered training organisation must have a Unique Student Identifier (USI). Who is this Course For:

The unit is applicable for personnel from emergency services‚ volunteer organisations or organisations that provide a medically supervised first aid service. Licensing requirements for the storage and administration of drugs may apply.

 

Course Outcomes:

  • Students who successfully complete this nationally recognised training will be awarded the statement of attainment for: PUAEME005 Provide Pain Management
  • Legal Note: Specific licensing /regulatory requirements relating to this competency, including requirements for refresher training should be obtained from the relevant national/state/territory Work Health and Safety Regulatory Authorities.

Course Delivery:

Duration: 5 hours 
Delivery Style: Face to Face in our training centre or onsite
Location: Buddina training centre or onsite on the Sunshine Coast‚ Brisbane or the Gold Coast

 

Course Assessment:

  • Practical Demonstrations: Simulated scenarios and/or role playing
  • Knowledge Assessment by trainer during the course

Course Content:
