Provide Advanced Resuscitation

HLTAID007. This unit deals with the skills and knowledge required to provide an advanced first aid response, including management of the incident and other first aiders, until the arrival of medical or other assistance. Courses are run every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday commencing at 8am.
PRICE: $120

The unit applies to workers who may be required to provide, coordinate and manage a first aid response across a range of complex situations, include community and workplace settings.

Prerequisites: There are no prerequisites for this course.
Duration: 3 – 4 hours classroom training
Validity: Legislative approval valid for 1 year from completion date.
Course contents:
  • DRSABCD Action Plan
  • Managing the Unconscious Casualty
  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation
  • Use of an Automated External Defibrillator
  • Prepare resuscitation equipment ready for use
  • Apply bag, valve and mask resuscitation techniques
  • Administer oxygen
  • Operate suction equipment
  • Restore and maintain equipment ready for use

Students who successfully complete this nationally recognised training will be awarded the statement of attainment: HLTAID007 Provide Advanced Resuscitation.
