HLTAID005 Provide First Aid in Remote Situations

HLTAID005 describes the skills and knowledge required to provide first aid response and emergency life support to a casualty in a remote and/or isolated situation.
The unit applies to workers who may be required to prepare for and provide a first aid response in locations beyond the reach of timely medical assistance. Specific licensing /regulatory requirements relating to this competency, including requirements for refresher training should be obtained from the relevant national/state/territory Work Health and Safety Regulatory Authorities.
Prerequisites: There are no prerequisites for this course
Duration: 8 hours classroom training, plus completed pre-course workbook.
Validity: Legislative approval valid for 3 years from completion date. Provide CPR unit recommended annual renewal from completion date.
