DESCRIPTION:Tertiary Student Mental Health First Aid Course - Online Learning; eLearning & Zoom Workshop \n\nThe Mental Health First Aid for or the Tertiary Students course teaches how to assist a fellow student developing a mental health problem or experiencing a mental health crisis.\n\nThis course covers the signs and symptoms of common mental health problems‚ how to provide help‚ what professional help is available‚ effective help options (as shown by research) and first aid for mental health crisis situations. It provides the knowledge and skills needed to feel confident to help.\n\nThis is an online course. It includes self-paced eLearning followed by 2 live zoom workshops. This course has been developed specifically for tertiary students.\n\n \n\nCourse Requirements:\nCourse Prerequisites: \n\n	That you are a University or Tafe student (evidence of this will be required).\n	You must complete the eLearning before the zoom workshops.\n\n\nNote: This is an education course‚ it is not a therapy or support group. If you would like to discuss if this course is right for you‚ please call or email us.\n  \n\n\nWho is this Course For:\nThis course is suitable for tertiary students. It includes information and example scenarios relevant to students however the information and techniques can be applied to all adults‚ in all situations.\n\nThis is an evidence based course developed by Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) Australia\, a national not-for-profit organisation focused on mental health training and research. Find out more about the Mental Health First Aid course here.\n\n  \n\n\n\nCourse Outcomes:\nCertificate of completion of Mental Health First Aid trainingCourse participants may undertake an optional online assessment to become an accredited Mental Health First Aider (there is no extra cost for this) \n\n\nCourse Delivery:\n Online MHFA course: \n\n	There are two parts to this course; Self paced eLearning (5-7 hours) and 2 x 2.5hour zoom workshops. \n	You must complete the eLearning and both zoom workshops.\n	If you have already completed the eLearning and would like to enrol in the zoom workshops only please call us on 5444 4171 or email admin@assistfirstaid.com.au\n\nEnroling on this page includes the eLearning\, 2 zoom workshops and your MHFA manual:\n\n\n	Self paced eLearning (5-7 hours)\n	\n		A link and voucher to redeem for your eLearning will be emailed to you 2 weeks before your zoom workshops.\n		The eLearning must be completed before the zoom workshops.\n	\n	\n\n\n\n	Zoom workshops (2 x 2.5 hours)\n	\n		These are practical workshops focused on applying of knowledge and skills learnt in the eLearning. In the workshops we will:\n		\n			Examine issues relevant to student mental health problems in more depth.\n			Clarify any questions you have from the eLearning.\n			Apply the MHFA Action Plan to scenarios.\n			Discuss 'where to from now' in using mental health first aid skills\n		\n		\n		Proof that you are a student and have completed the eLearning will be required.\n	\n	\n\n\n\n	Mental Health First Aid manual\n	\n		You will have access to an Online MHFA manual while you complete your eLearning. You will also be mailed a current\, printed current MHFA manual. \n	\n	\n\n\n\n	Other Information\n	\n		This course has a minimum of 6 students.
