ASSIST Medics at Mooloolaba Triathlon

The Mooloolaba Multisport Triathlon Festival attempted to kick off last Friday with the ASICS 5km Twilight Run.  Unfortunately, this run was cancelled due to sudden heavy rain, lightening and blustery winds. This wild unpredictable weather certainly kept us on all our toes for the rest of the weekend!

Mooloolaba Multisport Triathlon Festival has been a feature event on the Australian Triathlon Calendar for 26 years. ASSIST First Aid, now known as ASSIST Medics, first started providing medical coverage at the Mooloolaba Triathlon in 2010. Since then the event and our company have both grown exponentially. The Mooloolaba Multisport Festival also includes a Super Kidz Triathlon, Special Kids Triathlon, and Ocean Swim.

ASSIST Medics highly qualified team of doctors, nurses, paramedics and medics that were on hand throughout the 3 day multisport festival to provide professional medical coverage for over 20,000 volunteers, event staff, spectators and participants. Strategically placed medics on bikes, scooters, and motorbikes allow us to provide immediate medical assessment and treatment from the start line through to the finish line. Of course our medical coverage would not be complete without a fully equipped 20 bed medical tent staffed by emergency department trained doctors and nurses. Not only do we have our medical staff to look after patients, we also work closely with Queensland Ambulance Service who are on site throughout the event.

The Mooloolaba Triathlon was just the start to a very busy year for ASSIST Medics providing professional event medical coverage at large sporting events across Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria, Western Australia, Singapore, Sir Lanka and Goa.  Up next ASSIST Medics will be showing off their skills at the Gold Coast Luke Harrop Triathlon on April 7th 2019!

Need first aid training, why not book a course today! ASSIST First Aid Pty Ltd is a Registered Training Organisation providing a suite of first aid related nationally accredited training.
