HLTAID015 – Provide Advanced Resuscitation and Oxygen Therapy is a nationally accredited course that equips individuals with specialised skills to perform advanced resuscitation techniques‚ including oxygen therapy, in critical emergencies. Ideal for emergency responders, lifeguards, first aid officers, and healthcare professionals, this course covers advanced CPR, airway management, defibrillation (AED), and oxygen administration. Participants will learn to assess emergencies, use resuscitation equipment, monitor vital signs, and ensure effective patient handover. This unit is essential for those responsible for delivering high-level care in life-threatening situations.

In line with this all students are now required to take a short LLND (Language, Literacy, Numeracy, and Digital Literacy) self-assessment. Your answers are confidential and allow us to identify any support or reasonable adjustments you might need to complete the course.

Course Outcomes:
- Learners who successfully complete this nationally recognised training will be awarded a statement of attainment.
- HLTAID015 Provide advanced resuscitation and oxygen therapy and HLTAID009 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation are reccommened to be renewed every 12 months.
- Legal Note: Specific licensing /regulatory requirements relating to this competency, including requirements for refresher training should be obtained from the relevant national/state/territory Work Health and Safety Regulatory Authorities.
Course Delivery:
Duration: 6 hours
Delivery Style: Face to face delivery style consists of completing all knowledge and practical assessments with the trainer assessor in our training centre or onsite. There is no pre-course learning.
Location: Assist Training Centre - 22 Premier Cct Warana (Sunshine Coast) or in the workplace.

Course Assessment:
- Knowledge assessment consisting of multiple choice, multi-choice, matching and order the steps questions
- Perform single rescuer cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) (5 cycles of both compressions and ventilations) on an adult resuscitation manikin placed on the floor, including using an AED
- Perform CPR on an infant manikin placed on a firm surface
- Perform bag-valve-mask (with oxygen) ventilation and at least 2 minutes of compression during resuscitation procedures involving at least two rescuers on an adult resuscitation manikin placed on the floor
- Select and insert an appropriate basic airway adjunct
- Respond appropriately using positioning and suctioning in the event of regurgitation or vomiting
- Manage oxygen equipment appropriately
- Hand over to emergency services providing an accurate verbal report of the incident
- Manage a casualty with life-threatening bleeding requiring use of tourniquets and haemostatic dressings
- Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required
- Manage a conscious casualty who requires supplemental oxygen including: assessing vital signs, using oxygen equipment and administering oxygen
- Review the incident
- Monitor and coordinate maintenance of resuscitation equipment and oxygen therapy equipment
