Mental Health First Aid Refresher Course - Online

Training for current and Accredited MHFAiders to stay up to date with mental health first aid knowledge‚ skills and information.

 

Course Requirements:

Course Prerequisites: This course is people who have completed the Mental Health First Aid course within the last three years.  

This course suits current and accredited MHFAiders who completed the following courses:
  • Standard MHFA
  • Older Person MHFA
  • Blended or Online Community MHFA
  • Blended or Online Workplace MHFA
  • Financial Services MHFA
  • Legal Professionals MHFA
  • Pharmacy MHFA
  • Tertiary MHFA
USI: You do not need a USI to take this course
 

Who is this Course For:

The course is suitable for people who have completed a full MHFA course within the last 3 years.

This course is:
  • Evidence based: Courses have been independently and academically peer-reviewed through studies.
  • Rigorously Evaluated: Proven efficacy and impact in improving knowledge‚ stigma and helping behaviours.
  • Informed by Lived Experience: Informed by people with lived experience, caregivers and mental health professionals.

Course Outcomes:

  • Certificate of completion of Mental Health First Aid training
  • Course participants may undertake an optional online assessment to become an accredited Mental Health First Aider (there is no extra cost for this)

Course Delivery:

Duration: 6 hours including breaks
Location: Delivered via zoom
Pre-learning: There is no pre-learning for this course
T&Cs: courses without the minimum number of attendees will be rescheduled. Full course T&Cs can be found here

Course Assessment:

  • Participants will receive a Certificate of Completion
  • Accredited Mental Health First Aiders can complete a post course quiz to extend their Mental Health First Aid Accreditation for a further 3 years

Course Content:

  • Course participants learn about the latest research in the mental health field
  • Complex mental health first aid interactions
  • Practice their mental health first aid skills across a range of mental health problems and mental health crisis situations
