HLTAID009 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation (Blended)

HLTAID009 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation  is a nationally accredited unit that provides you with the necessary skills and knowledge to perform CPR in emergency situations. This critical training prepares participants to respond promptly and effectively to cardiac arrest incidents, enabling life-saving interventions until professional medical help arrives. The unit encompasses all aspects of CPR administration, including situation assessment, performing chest compressions, and delivering rescue breaths.

Course Requirements:

To ensure the best outcome for you, the Australian Govt. requires that students undertaking nationally recognised courses have the learning skills or support they need to succeed. In line with this all students are now required to take a short LLND (Language, Literacy, Numeracy, and Digital Literacy) self-assessment. Your answers are confidential and allow us to identify any support or reasonable adjustments you might need to complete the course.

Unique Student Identifier: 
Your Unique Student Identifier (USI) is your individual education number for life. It also creates a Government authenticated record of your vocational education and training (VET) achievements.

You need a USI if you are a student studying nationally recognised Vocational Education and Training (VET). Visit https://www.usi.gov.au/ to create or find your USI number. 

Who is this Course For:

This course is designed for individuals who may need to deliver CPR in various situations‚ including both workplace and community settings and have completed CPR training before. 

Course Outcomes:

  • Learners who successfully complete this nationally recognised training will be awarded a statement of attainment.
  • HLTAID009 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation is reccommened to be renewed every 12 months.
  • Legal Note: Specific licensing /regulatory requirements relating to this competency, including requirements for refresher training should be obtained from the relevant national/state/territory Work Health and Safety Regulatory Authorities.

Course Delivery:

Duration: 1.5 hour (estimated) online e-learning and knowledge assessment  45 minute face to face practical assessment with trainer asessor. 
Delivery Style: Blended delivery consists of online self paced e-learning and knowledge assessment, followed by a practical assessment session in our training centre or onsite.
Location: Assist Training Centre - 22 Premier Cct Warana (Sunshine Coast) or in the workplace.

Course Assessment:

  • Knowledge assessment consisting of multiple choice, multi-choice, matching and order the steps questions
  • Perform CPR on adult manikin placed on the floor, including using an AED and putting into recovery position
  • Perform CPR on an infant manikin placed on a firm surface
  • Handing over to emergency services providing an accurate verbal report of the incident
  • Reviewing the incident
