HLTAID011 Provide first aid is a nationally accredited unit that prepares individuals with the vital skills and knowledge to deliver first aid in diverse situations. This comprehensive training includes HLTAID009 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), equipping participants with the ability to perform life-saving CPR on adults, children, and infants. The course also covers practical techniques for managing a wide range of medical emergencies—including injuries, illnesses, and accidents—empowering individuals to respond confidently and effectively. Training combines theoretical knowledge with hands-on practice to ensure participants are well-prepared to handle real-world emergencies.

To ensure the best outcome for you, the Australian Govt. requires that students undertaking nationally recognised courses have the learning skills or support they need to succeed. In line with this all students are now required to take a short LLND (Language, Literacy, Numeracy, and Digital Literacy) self-assessment. Your answers are confidential and allow us to identify any support or reasonable adjustments you might need to complete the course.

Who is this Course For:
This course is designed for individuals who may need to deliver CPR and first aid in various situations, including both workplace and community settings.
Course Outcomes:
- Learners who successfully complete this nationally recognised training will be awarded a statement of attainment.
- HLTAID009 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation is reccommened to be renewed every 12 months.
- HLTAID011 Provide first aid is reccommened to be renewed every 3 years.
- Legal Note: Specific licensing /regulatory requirements relating to this competency, including requirements for refresher training should be obtained from the relevant national/state/territory Work Health and Safety Regulatory Authorities.

Course Assessment:
- Knowledge assessment consisting of multiple choice, multi-choice, matching and order the steps questions
- Perform CPR on adult manikin placed on the floor, including using an AED and putting into recovery position
- Perform CPR on an infant manikin placed on a firm surface
- Respond to realistic in-depth, scenarios and simulations to assess first aid skills and knowledge
- Manage a casualty with anaphylaxis
- Manage a casualty with asthma
- Manage a choking casualty
- Manage a casualty with non-life-threatening bleeding, minor wound cleaning and dressing
- Manage a casualty with a fracture, dislocation, sprain or strains, using appropriate immobilisation techniques
- Manage a casualty with envenomation, using pressure immobilisation
- Manage a casualty with a nosebleed
- Manage a casualty with shock
- Complete a first aid incident report form based on a simulated first aid scenario
