Sports Trainer Level 1 provides the skills and knowledge required to make sport safer. Students learn how to implement strategies to prevent sport-specific injuries and mange injuries, illness and medical conditions, including applying taping for ongoing injury prevention and post-injury support.

This course is relevant to anyone working in sports trainer roles in the Australian sport industry, including with sport clubs and organisations as an employee or volunteer. It is also suited to anyone who is, or has a child who is, serious about their sport and wants to know more about staying safe and managing injuries.

ASSIST First Aid have been supplying First Aid Responders and Medics to Sports and Events for over 15 years, so you’ll be learning from industry specialists.

Course Includes:

👉  Implement Sport Injury Prevention & Management Strategies (SISSSPT001)
👉  Prepare Participants for Sport Competition (SISSSCO15)
👉  Managing Asthma & Anaphylaxis
👉  Sports Taping; Contraindications, Fingers, Thumbs, Achilles Tendons, Ankles, Elbows, Knees, Shoulders
👉  First Aid / CPR upgrade to Provide First Aid  Education & Care Setting (HLTAID012) so student can manage Asthma & Anaphylaxis

Dates and Duration:

The course is delivered through a combination of a workbook completed by students before 1 day of face to face theory & practical training & assessment.

👉  Pre-classroom workbook (2 hours – supplied)
👉   Classroom training (8 hours)

Location:

👉  Assist First Aid training centre in Buddina (close to Maroochydore) on the Sunshine Coast
👉  For groups of 6 or more our trainers can come to you on the Sunshine Coast, Gold Coast or Brisbane
