There has been a buzz of activity this past week leading up to the weekend’s events! Our medics had the pleasure of providing medical coverage for the Sunshine Coast Marathon. This is a fantastic not-for-profit annual running event that makes the most of the superb Queensland winter weather conditions. With spectacular views of Alexandra Headlands and the ocean along this road course it’s no wonder participants come from around the world come to participate.
ASSIST Medics provided aid stations at 5 locations along the course, medics at the finish line and a fully equipped medical tent. As with all our special events we worked closely with Queensland Ambulance Service who were along the course and also on hand for hospital transfers. The team at ASSIST Medics makes every effort to ensure participants and spectators receive the best care.
The Sunshine Coast Marathon provides running events to suit all abilities and age groups, including families and those with both physical and intellectual disabilities. Event distances for this event include the Marathon, Half Marathon, 10km, 5km and the 2km. This is a world class athletic event with a large focus on community involvement to enjoy all the free fun in the family entertainment precinct. If you have not attended this event before, put it on your list for next year!
